As the transformational Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, the oldest black baptist church in the city of Paterson Rev. Dr. Randall M. Lassiter leads a progressive ministry that has been praising God and serving humanity for more than 140 years.  

Dr. Lassiter brings a number of leadership experiences to the helm of Calvary expecting spiritual sensitivity from himself and the church body. He uses those experiences as enhancements to making disciples and leading others to Christ. He is a humble servant, and a spiritual powerhouse who has addressed thousands of people of various ages  on numerous platforms including public and private schools, college campuses, churches, and community groups.  

Dr. Lassiter, is founder of B-Men Mentoring Program, Future Scholars Learning Center, and former Pastor and Founder of Greater Church of the Abundance, all of Paterson.  

In addition to being a prolific writer of hundreds of sermons for his congregations, Rev. Lassiter is an author.  His books include: “You are not Your Circumstances”, a self-help book encouraging readers to not allow obstacles to cripple them from achieving their dreams, and “Write the Vision”. He is co-authoring with his wife, Krystal Faye Lassiter, a self-help book for keeping covenant in marriage, entitled “Divorce is not an Option”, and is in the throes of completing his book “If the Dream is Big Enough, the Facts Don’t Matter”.

Rev. Lassiter earned his Doctorate in Divinity from United Theological Seminary in Ohio.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from East Stroudsburg University and a Master of Administrative Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Dr. Lassiter is the recipient of several awards and honors which include the Ambassador of Peace Award, the Rev. Dr. Frank Napier Legacy Award and the Spiritual Leader Award. 

Rev. Dr. Lassiter is an appointed and anointed preacher and teacher of the gospel of the kingdom of God. His love for God and passion for souls to be converted and transformed into disciples, and disciples into ambassadors of God, is evident in every endeavor and accomplishment of his life.  As he serves humanity he daily purposes in his heart to walk in the freshness of God, daily denying himself and coming after Christ. He maneuvers in a fresh love, thinks with a fresh new mind, and speaks the Word of God with a fresh anointing. His best act of servitude is to his best friend and wife Krystal, and sons, Nigel and Joell.  But most importantly, he loves the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength.
